Contract Opportunity - Azure & Data Fabric Security ArchitectTarget Start Date: ASAP Target End Date: 6-8 weeks initially, extendable Recruitment Type: ContractorRate: £500, Inside IR35Location of role: Remote Clearance Required: SC Working Pattern: Monday- Friday Role PurposeResponsible for end-to-end design, implementation, and governance of secure architectures across Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric environments. The architect ensures data platforms, integration layers, and cloud services are protected by robust, scalable, and compliant security controls - embedding security from architecture through to deployment and live operations. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise across the Microsoft security ecosystem, particularly Fabric, Purview, Defender, and Sentinel, alongside strong stakeholder engagement skills.Mandatory RequirementsExperience - all required* Substantial experience in security architecture, cloud security, or data platform security* Hands-on Azure security architecture in large-scale enterprise environments* Deep expertise with Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, Azure AD, PIM, and managed identities* Proven Fabric security design experience - OneLake, workspace security, Fabric roles, and Purview integration* Strong knowledge of GDPR, UK DPA, ISO 27001, and NIST compliance frameworks* Security design for distributed data platforms - Data Fabric, medallion architecture* DevSecOps experience embedding security into CI/CD pipelines and IaC (ARM, Bicep, or Terraform)Mandatory Certifications - all five required* AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert* SC-100: Cybersecurity Architect Expert* SC-200: Security Operations Analyst Associate* SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Associate* CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security ProfessionalDue to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
