Are you an experienced Back End engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in high-performance, Real Time environments?

We're partnering with an innovative technology business that's investing heavily in its engineering capability as it continues to scale. They're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative team developing highly available, cloud-native platforms that process large volumes of Real Time data.

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging systems where performance, scalability and reliability are critical. You'll have the chance to influence architecture, contribute to technical decision-making and work alongside talented engineers in a fast-paced environment.

The Role

You'll play a key role in designing and developing modern Back End systems that process live data, integrate with external platforms and support business-critical applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing scalable Back End services using Python and Java
  • Building cloud-native, event-driven applications
  • Developing integrations with third-party platforms and APIs
  • Designing and optimising Real Time data processing pipelines
  • Improving application performance, resilience and scalability
  • Working closely with technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality software
  • Contributing to infrastructure, deployment and continuous improvement initiatives

Technology

You'll be working with a modern engineering stack including:

  • Python
  • Java
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Docker
  • REST APIs
  • Event-driven architecture
  • Streaming data
  • Distributed systems
  • Real Time data processing

About You

We're looking for engineers with experience in:

  • Commercial Python development
  • Java development
  • Cloud platforms (GCP preferred, although AWS or Azure experience is also valuable)
  • Docker and containerised applications
  • REST API development
  • Event-driven or distributed systems
  • Real Time or high-performance Back End applications
  • Designing scalable data pipelines

Desirable Experience

Experience working within high-performance, highly transactional environments would be advantageous, including:

  • Financial services or electronic trading platforms
  • Sports betting, iGaming or wagering technology
  • Trading or market data systems
  • Low-latency applications and streaming architectures
  • FIX Protocol or electronic trading integrations (particularly for candidates from financial services)
