Senior Backend Engineer

London (Occasional Travel required every 4 -6 weeks)

Salary: Up to £95,000

An established, global technology business within the hospitality-tech industry is seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to help build and scale cutting-edge digital solutions. This is a chance to work on greenfield projects - building new, scalable products that help venues create seamless, data-driven guest experiences from the ground up.

What will I be doing?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Back End systems supporting Real Time hospitality operations.
• Take ownership of key features throughout the software development life cycle - from technical design through to deployment and ongoing optimisation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and data science to deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions.
• Work with modern technologies such as Python, Django, Cloud Firestore, BigQuery, and Elasticsearch to deliver scalable, reliable software.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance system architecture and code quality.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to maintain engineering excellence.

What do I need to be successful:

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years' experience in Back End software development within a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Strong proficiency in Python (or similar modern Back End language) and experience building RESTful APIs or microservices.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure)
• Passion for building customer-centric products and working collaboratively to solve complex technical challenges.
