On behalf of Network Rail, we are looking for a Power BI Data Analyst for an 11 month contract based Hybrid in London. We are looking for a technically skilled and proactive Power BI Data Analyst to support the management and development of our national station accessibility data. You will sit at the "engine room" of our data analysis - maintaining our Power BI suite, ensuring data quality, and helping translate raw information into tools that help the rail industry make stations more accessible. As a Power BI Data Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:. Technical Power BI Support & Maintenance: Maintain and update the primary Power BI files, including managing complex DAX, troubleshooting issues and ensuring stable connections to the Azure Data Lake.. Data Modelling & Sources: Under guidance, update data models as new information becomes available (eg footfall, census, or GIS data), identifying new data sources that could complement our existing suite and integrating them into current analysis.. UI & Usability: Keep the Power BI interface clean, user-friendly and visually aligned with our standards.. Data Auditing & Quality Assurance: Run and manage a separate Power BI file dedicated to Quality Assurance; identifying discrepancies in accessibility data and flagging them for review.. Use the data to respond to Freedom of Information Requests (FOIs) and stakeholder queries, liaising with the Technical Authority where required.. Industry Analysis & Asset Insight: Provide data analysis to support station infrastructure and accessibility projects, including programmes such as Access for All, East West Rail, National Rail Enquiries and targeted studies that would benefit from having station accessibility data included eg lift maintenance programmes.. Multi-Format Output: Take insights from Power BI and package them into Excel or PowerPoint for use by teams across Network Rail and the railway industry.. User Support & Training: Act as the first point of contact for data user queries, explaining how the data works, troubleshooting issues and creating "how-to" videos and short learning sessions to help colleagues get the most out of the Power BI interface. Essential: . Strong experience in Power BI, including advanced DAX.. Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large, complex datasets. Ability to work with various data sources, including passenger data, timetable information and GIS.. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.. Curiosity & Proactivity: Someone who doesn't just "push buttons," but wants to understand what the data is telling us about the railway.. Team player who enjoys working as part of a mission-led team and is happy to take direction on strategic priorities. Desirable:. Experience with transport, passenger, infrastructure or asset based data.. Exposure to accessibility related datasets or public facing data products.. Previous Network Rail or rail sector experience.
