Head of Applications Management - SAP S/4 HANA. Competitive Package. Hybrid Working - London. Permanent. Must be Eligible to work in the UK. Leading UK & International organisation is seeking to secure a Head of Applications Management. The role holder will deploy a new Application Management Operating Model to support the transition to RISE on SAP S/4 HANA & BTP and is accountable for delivering Business-as-Usual (BAU) Application Management Services across the UK & International business. The role holder will be a member of the Senior Leadership team. Role:
  • RISE with SAP S/4 HANA upgrade & BTP deployment - Scope the project, build a detailed plan & complete the business case for change.
  • Lead the Strategy & Roadmap for Application Management - key focus on SAP S/4 HANA & BTP - create a 5-to-10-year Strategy & Roadmap.
  • Deliver the plan, designing the To-Be Operating Model for Application Management - managing and optimising the solution in BAU.
  • Create & manage a Business-as-Usual (BAU) Application Management Operating Model - that fully supports the transition to SAP S/4 Hana.
  • Business-As-Usual - Deliver Business-as-Usual (BAU) activities including support & changes.
  • Deliver the SAP S/4 HANA upgrade & a new Operating Model - that supports the SAP S/4 Hana environment.
  • Responsible for the Support Model for - Off-The-Shelf and/or SaaS products.
  • Lead Applications Management Team - SAP Functional Consultants, ABAP & MERN Stack Developers.
  • Accountability for the delivery of the Applications Management Budget.
  • Partner with IT Service Leadership & ensure alignment through the IT Service Desk.
  • Third Parties - Own strategic supplier relationships.
  • Support a Transformation Programme focused on a growth agenda - support projects within the programme that require AM enablement/support.
  • Operating Model Adjustment & Continuous Improvement.
  • Mature the ways of working & governance - ensure AM team is aligned to best practice & directed at the highest priorities.
  • Member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Skills Experience Required:
  • SAP Applications Management - 15+ years experience.
  • Held a Head Of position or an equivalent level - ideally 5+ plus years experience.
  • SAP S/4 HANA - delivered on SAP S/4 HANA implementation & upgrade projects/programmes.
  • SAP Solutions Architecture - solid knowledge.
  • BTP - high level knowledge.
  • ABAP, SAP Configuration & BTP Integration Toolset - high level knowledge.
  • Leading an Applications Management team through an upgrade to SAP S/4 HANA.
  • Providing an AM service across non-SAP solutions (In-house, SaaS & COTS).
  • Applications Management Model - designing new operating models to support an SAP S/4 HANA platform.
  • Establish the measures/benchmarks for the AM function - maturing them & continuous improvement.
  • Developing a medium-long term strategy/roadmaps for Application Management.
  • Working within a matrix organisation - internal & external resources.
  • Third Party Supplier Management & Engagement - Contracts & Services aligned to SAP & Application Management.
  • Budget - managed a departmental budget - annual cycles of forecasting & periodic re-forecasting.
  • Leadership - leading SAP Teams - SAP Functional Consultants, ABAP & ideally non-SAP (MERN) Developers etc - must have experience of leading SAP Teams & Hybrid/Remote Teams effectively.
  • Ability to deliver well thought through quality plans - then deliver them effectively.
  • Proactive Approach - must have a Can Do attitude.
  • Ability to navigate a complex environment & effectively manage change.
  • Gravitas & Maturity to build and establish relationships at all levels.
