Your new company Join a leading global financial services who are investing heavily in technology and transformation initiatives and have created a number of exciting opportunities for Procurement and Sourcing professionals with category exposure to Software.Your new role As a Category & Sourcing Manager within the IT Software category, you will play a key role in shaping and executing category strategies that support business objectives while delivering commercial value. Working closely with senior stakeholders across global markets, you will lead sourcing initiatives, drive complex negotiations, and develop innovative commercial solutions that optimise spend and strengthen supplier performance.Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and executing IT Software category strategies aligned to organisational goals.
• Leading complex sourcing and procurement activities for high-value, large-scale software and technology agreements.
• Managing competitive procurement processes, including RFx development, proposal evaluation, business case creation, and supplier selection.
• Structuring and negotiating commercial agreements with both new and existing suppliers.
• Driving deal strategy across transition, transformation, and contract life cycle activities.
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on sourcing and commercial matters.
• Providing category insights, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
• Defining commercial frameworks that encourage supplier behaviours aligned with business objectives and long-term value creation.

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar strategic sourcing role.
• Strong expertise in IT Software procurement and supplier management.
• Extensive experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, outsourcing arrangements, and large-scale technology contracts.
• A strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, commercial models, and procurement best practice.
• Experience working with major software vendors and global service providers.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
• Strong analytical, planning, and organisational capabilities, with excellent attention to detail.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently while collaborating within a global team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
