Our Client, in Government is looking for an Economist to provide business case support in the following areas:* Experience of options appraisal - long-listing/short-listing/cost-benefit analysis based on Green Book principles.* Ability to work with finance and modelling colleagues to pull together what is needed for the economic case section of a business case.* Good Awareness of Analytical Quality Assurance (AQA) principles as outlined in the Aqua book and create and implement an AQA Plan.* Ability to take the lead on managing the project with some internal G7 oversight, including creating a plan, monitoring progress, and adapting as circumstances change - working independently without requiring day-to-day guidance.o Ability to scope and make sensible plans for the analysis required by stakeholders* Ability to a clear project report/presentation from scratch, creating a logical structure, clearly summarising and explaining information for non-technical audiences, and deciding what to include and omit (tailoring to audiences)* Awareness of the need for good knowledge management to allow effective handover of workDue to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply.
