Financial Controller

Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days in the office)

About the role

We're seeking a hands on Financial Controller to join a London based investment business, part of a leading financial planning group. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with a background in financial services, investment management, asset management or financial planning.

The main objective for this role is to take ownership of core finance processes while contributing to strategic financial analysis and modelling.

The role will evolve and broaden over time, offering strong potential for growth and development within the wider group.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy across all ledgers.
• Deliver management reporting, variance analysis and financial modelling to support decision making and investment propositions.
• Identify opportunities for improvement related to financial controls, processes and systems.
• Support month end and year end close, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with investment teams to evaluate new opportunities and business cases.
• Liaise with external advisors, auditors and group finance colleagues as needed.
• Oversee day to day finance operations, including expenses, payroll and purchase invoice processing.

About You

• Qualified accountant.
• Background in financial services.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.
• Practical, hands on approach to finance operations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
• Eager to grow within a business and take over more responsibilities over time.
