Avencia are partnered with a leading specialty insurer and Fortune 500 company, who are looking to hire an Executive Underwriter in their Excess Casualty team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established underwriting team with a mature book of business and over 30 years of success across the London and Dublin Excess Casualty platform.

Key accountabilities

• Attend underwriting meetings with brokers, prospective and existing clients.
• Negotiate premiums, terms and conditions.
• Ensure timely and accurate issuance of policy documentation.
• Develop and mentor underwriters where applicable.
• Maximise cross-sell opportunities to existing customers.
• Assist in developing and implementing new products.
• Maintain high standards of conduct to protect the company's reputation.
• Set performance objectives and conduct annual evaluations.
• Analyse coverage and contract language using industry-accepted policy forms.

Skills & experience

• Previous casualty underwriting experience required in global excess insurance risk classes.
• Experience of industry accepted policy forms
• Reported Policy forms as well as Industry accepted Claims-Made and Occurrence Policy forms
• Experience with budgetary accountability and compiling reports for Management
