The Role:
As the Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing the tendering process for projects focused on planned maintenance and retrofit work. These tenders can range from 3, 5, or even 10-year projects, with values sometimes reaching into the hundreds of millions. You will be working closely with the Head of Estimating and a Bid Coordinator, leading on key bids with a turnaround time typically between 4-6 weeks.
You will predominantly focus on planned maintenance, but experience in retrofit or decarbonization projects would be advantageous. You will only be required to work from the office 1-2 days per week, with flexible remote working options available. However, regular in-person presence at least weekly will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the completion of technical and cost tender documentation in line with company processes.
- Work on multiple tenders (maximum of 4 at any given time) with durations of 3-10 years.
- Collaborate with the Head of Estimating and other team members to create robust, competitive pricing proposals.
- Build a strong understanding of planned maintenance work streams, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
- Develop tailored solutions for clients in the housing and property services sectors.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in planned maintenance projects is essential. Experience in retrofit/decarbonization work is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to manage tenders for high-value, long-term projects.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of contract pricing methodologies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
What's on Offer:
- Salary: Up to £80,000 (with potential flexibility for the right candidate)
- Hybrid working - only required to be in the office 1-2 days per week.
- Join a collaborative, innovative team with a strong reputation in the industry.
If you're an experienced estimator with a passion for planned maintenance and are looking to take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
