Forvis Mazars is a leading global professional services network providing audit & assurance, tax, and advisory services. Forvis Mazars in the UK spans 14 offices across the nation and has over 3,400 professionals, with 190 partners. We have a clear purpose and a shared commitment to shape a better future.

You'll join a collaborative and inclusive team where you're supported to grow your skills, explore new opportunities, and contribute from day one. You'll work with a diverse client base, develop meaningful connections, and gain experience that extends beyond your local team. Together, we grow, belong and impact.

About the team

The Insurance Internal Audit (IA) team primarily provides outsource and co-source IA services to a range of insurance-related clients. The client portfolio spans retail and corporate insurance in the UK and Gibraltar, as well as the Lloyd's Market.

In addition, the team also delivers a range of other services including: IA EQAs, Board Effectiveness Reviews and other control / assurance assignments.

Our ambition is to be the Insurance IA provider and team of choice in the market - delivering an unparallelled client experience and achieving continuous and sustainable growth.

We have grown our client portfolio significantly in recent years, and work increasingly with large, complex, international organisations. Recent client feedback as been exceptional, based on our Client Listening Programme, and resultant Net Promotor Score (NPS).

About the role

This role has been created in anticipation of our continued growth, to build further capacity and enhance existing capabilities.

The successful candidate will be given a high degree of responsibility and autonomy, with extensive opportunity for development and progression.

The role is offered across AM and Manager grades to allow for the flexibility of different experience levels of candidates. We naturally consider candidates' relevant experience, but also their attitudes and abilities and place significant emphasis on effective, balanced communication and empathy - these skills are essential in our line of work, which is increasingly consultative in nature.

We welcome and encourage applicants with different experience levels, whether these are experienced internal auditors seeking a new opportunity, those returning to work after a career break, those below AM grade looking to step on in their careers, and those coming from other backgrounds such as external audit or other risk-related roles.

The primary focus of the role is expected to be on overseeing, supporting and, in some cases, delivery of IA activity, including leading client engagements. However, as the individual develops and grows in the role, they will also have the opportunity to get involved in other broader activities both internally and externally.

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate is likely to have the following attributes and experience:

  • Experience of planning, delivering and communicating IA, or similar, comparable or relevant activity (3+ years);
  • Experience of the UK (and potentially also Gibraltar) insurance sector strongly desired, but not essential if the candidate can demonstrate comparable experience in other regulated sectors, the ability and willingness to quickly understand new concepts, and apply these proportionately and pragmatically;
  • Ability to build rapport and manage relationships with senior stakeholders essential;
  • Excellent written communication skills for the development and review of client deliverables;
  • Desire and ability to work collaboratively within an open, collegiate, team-focused environment;
  • Demonstrable ability to take ownership and responsibility of tasks and projects;
  • Good time management, prioritisation and project management skills; and
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, IIA or CII may be advantageous but are not essential - we value relevant experience and transferable skills.
