Hays Software Engineering are seeking a talented and experienced Software Development Lead to join our Legal Start-Up client. In this pivotal role, you'll manage a small team of developers while taking a hands-on approach to the Architecture, Design, Development & Security of our clients SaaS platform. This position will report directly to the CEO. What you will be doing:

• Lead a small team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Drive the overall solution architecture for our SaaS platform and its supporting AWS infrastructure.
• Write and maintain high-quality, tested code in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Work with our existing technology stack, including PostgreSQL, NestJS, PostgREST, and an AngularJS frontend.
• Define security policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOC2).
• Manage security incidents and breaches:
  1. Lead incident response efforts, conduct thorough investigations, and implement corrective actions.

What we are looking for:

• 7+ years experience in a Senior/Team Lead position.
• Previous examples of delivering successful products & platforms.
• Programming Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS (REST API framework), AngularJS (or similar frontend frameworks)
• Databases & Data Management: PostgreSQL, PostgREST (RESTful API layer over PostgreSQL)
• Cloud Platforms & Infrastructure: AWS services, Cloud architecture (general understanding)
• Project Management Tools & Methodologies: Jira, Project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.)
