Shift Leader - £49,000 + AP allowance + excellent training provided + career progression routes A leading provider of building and engineering services is looking for a reliable and experienced Shift Leader to join the on-site team at a landmark commercial building in the Tower Bridge area. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role in a prestigious, multi-tenant environment working a rotating days-only shift pattern designed for better work-life balance. As Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day engineering operations during your shift, managing both planned and reactive tasks, and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all building systems. You'll lead a small engineering team and act as the main point of contact for client and contractor queries while on shift. Shift Pattern: 2-Week Rotating (Days Only)
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the shift team in delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Supervise and allocate tasks, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met.
  • Manage and operate the permit-to-work system and support isolations as required.
  • Carry out hands-on maintenance and provide technical guidance when needed.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate shift reports, records, and logbooks.
Requirements:
  • Time-served engineer with strong mechanical or electrical background (multi-skilled ideal) with a recognised qualifications such as City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, F-Gas or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a commercial or critical environment.
  • Experience working with High Voltage(HV)
