Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Shift Leader to join our team at a prestigious trophy building in the heart of the City of London. This is a high-profile site requiring exceptional service delivery, attention to detail, and leadership. The Shift Leader will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the building runs smoothly and safely, and leading a team of engineers and service providers to deliver outstanding facilities support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of engineers and contractors during assigned shifts.
• Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Act as the first point of contact for building-related issues during your shift.
• Monitor BMS and other building systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and site-specific procedures.
• Conduct shift handovers and maintain accurate records of incidents, tasks, and updates.
• Support the Facilities Manager in delivering continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
• Respond to emergencies and escalate issues appropriately.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role within a commercial or high-end building environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in engineering or building services).
• IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety certification (desirable).
• Experience working in a client-facing role within a premium or trophy building (preferred).
