An established and growing building services engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its team in London. This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, innovative engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects.

The Role

You will lead and contribute to the delivery of electrical design solutions across multiple sectors, ensuring high technical standards and effective coordination within multidisciplinary teams.

You'll also support the development of junior engineers while working closely with clients and project stakeholders to deliver efficient, compliant, and forward-thinking designs.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead electrical design across a range of projects and sectors
  • Produce detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of design information at all project stages
  • Coordinate with internal and external CAD/Revit teams
  • Develop and present technical solutions aligned to client briefs
  • Monitor project progress, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Identify and escalate risks, technical challenges, and client feedback

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers
  • Provide technical guidance and promote best practice
  • Contribute to consistent quality and engineering standards

Collaboration & Communication

  • Liaise with clients, architects, and wider design teams
  • Present design strategies clearly to stakeholders
  • Build strong professional relationships
  • Support future business development through project engagement
Technical Expertise
  • Strong capability in electrical design calculations and coordinated outputs
  • Experience in multidisciplinary project environments
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and design practices
  • Proficiency with design and modelling tools such as:
    • CAD & Revit
    • Bluebeam
    • IES/Amtech/Dialux/Relux (or similar)
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery
About You
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Typically 5+ years' experience within a building services consultancy
  • Working towards or holding professional accreditation (eg CIBSE, IET)
  • Experience across a variety of sectors and project types
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Able to manage workload across multiple projects
  • Comfortable working both independently and within teams
