About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced MEP Pre-Construction Lead / Director (Design) to oversee all design, coordination, and technical development activities during the pre-construction phase of major MEP projects. This pivotal role ensures that design intent, buildability, and cost efficiency are fully integrated before project handover to delivery teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the MEP pre-construction process from concept design through to IFC (Issued for Construction) stage.
Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including internal resources and external consultants.
Develop and implement MEP design strategies aligned with project goals and client requirements.
Ensure full technical compliance, design quality, and adherence to regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards.
Collaborate closely with estimating, planning, and procurement teams to achieve cost efficiency and value engineering outcomes.
Review, approve, and sign off on all MEP design deliverables prior to client submission.
Liaise with clients, architects, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the overall project design.
Support project handover to delivery teams, maintaining design continuity throughout the construction phase.
You will be a technically proficient and commercially astute MEP professional with a strong background in design and pre-construction leadership. You'll have a proven ability to manage complex projects, coordinate multiple stakeholders, and deliver high-quality design outcomes within time and budget constraints.
Qualifications & ExperienceExtensive experience in MEP design management within the construction industry.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Deep understanding of design standards, compliance, and sustainability requirements.
