Company Overview

A tier one M&E building services contractor in London are paying a market leading salary up to 100,000 to obtain a Lead Electrical Project Engineer who has major project experience in London within the Healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, commerical office or landmark project background.

This opportunity is to play a key role in the electrical delivery of a 40 million pharma and commerical building in the City of London as well as to be involved across other key projects across the business in Central London providing your expert skills and opinions. This project will be starting in the next 6 months so now is the perfect opportunity to get settled into this business during the pre-construction stages to then hit the ground running once the project starts in the early months of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

As Lead Electrical Project Engineer, you will take a pivotal role in the successful delivery of a 40 million commercial & pharma mixed-use development in the City of London, while supporting additional flagship schemes across the business. Responsibilities will include:

Project Delivery & Leadership

  • Lead the electrical engineering delivery on large-scale projects, ensuring all works are completed to the highest technical and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to electrical engineering teams, fostering collaboration across design, commercial, and construction functions.
  • Act as the primary electrical point of contact for the client, consultants, and tier one contractors.

Design & Technical Oversight

  • Review, challenge, and manage electrical designs, specifications, and drawings during pre-construction and throughout delivery.
  • Oversee coordination of electrical services with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines.
  • Drive value engineering, technical innovation, and buildability solutions at both design and construction stages.

Commercial & Programme Management

  • Support the project manager in developing and monitoring programmes, ensuring milestones are achieved within cost, quality, and time parameters.
  • Manage technical submittals, procurement schedules, and supplier/ subcontractor engagement.
  • Track progress against budgets, highlighting risks and opportunities, and advising on cost-efficient solutions.

Quality, Compliance & Handover

  • Ensure all works comply with British Standards, IEE regulations, and client specifications.
  • Lead electrical testing, commissioning, and handover processes, ensuring seamless transition to client operations.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across all site activities.

Collaboration & Business Growth

  • Represent the company with professionalism when engaging with clients, consultants, and tier one contractors such as MACE, Kier, and McLaren.
  • Share technical expertise across multiple projects, supporting pre-construction planning and bid submissions when required.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous development.
