BMS Project/Design Engineer London/Southeast £65,000

If you re confident with systems like Trend, Tridium or Cylon, and enjoy working on both the design and delivery sides of projects, this could be the next step in your career.

The BMS Project/Design Engineer position

You ll be responsible for producing complete BMS designs, including control schematics, points lists, and I/O schedules, while supporting the successful delivery of projects from concept through to commissioning. You ll collaborate closely with project managers, software engineers, and clients to ensure the solution is technically sound, cost-effective, and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

  • Create detailed BMS system designs, control strategies, schematics and schedules
  • Work closely with PMs and clients to finalise project scopes and system architecture
  • Attend design meetings and support pre-commissioning/commissioning planning
  • Provide technical support to the installation and commissioning teams
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant specifications and standards
  • Assist in value engineering and cost optimisation across projects

Skills and experience required

Essential:

  • Experience in BMS design (Trend, Tridium or Cylon)
  • Understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
  • Familiarity with creating I/O lists, control panel drawings, and schematics
  • Good communication skills and ability to work within project teams

Desirable:

  • Experience with BMS integration and smart building platforms
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes and BMS software tools
