Quantity Surveyor (Fire Focus) Location: Near Holborn, London (site, office, and home based) Salary: £75,000 £95,000 (depending on experience) Work Location: Hybrid site, office, and home working Full time / Permanent, Monday to Friday

Remarkable Jobs are recruiting on behalf of a specialist contractor delivering expertise in cladding, block restoration, and fire compartmentation works.

Due to an increase in projects across schools and developers including building safety works and Gateway 2 & 3 schemes we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (fire focus) to join their team.

(Gateway 2 and 3 are key approval stages under the Building Safety Act, covering pre-construction approval and final completion/occupation approval.)

Quantity Surveyor Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing fire-related projects, ensuring financial accuracy, cost control, and compliance. You will work closely with site teams and clients, providing commercial oversight across fire compartmentation and fire door projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cost management on fire compartmentation and fire door projects.
  • Prepare, manage, and agree valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure project delivery is financially sound, commercially viable, and compliant with fire safety regulations.
  • Liaise with site teams, contractors, and clients to ensure commercial alignment.
  • Produce accurate reports, forecasts, and recommendations for senior management.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of projects under building safety regulations, including Gateway 2 & 3 processes.

What They Are Looking For:

Essential:

  • Circa 10 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong focus (minimum 5 years) on fire projects.
  • Proven experience in fire compartmentation and fire doors.
  • Strong commercial knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, accuracy, and commercial acumen.

Desirable:

  • Experience with educational or developer-led projects.
  • Previous exposure to building safety and Gateway 2 & 3 processes.

  • Professional, reliable, and pragmatic.
  • Confident communicator with stakeholders at all levels.
