Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage conservation and cultural projects across various sectors
- Play a key role in new business development, bidding, and work-winning for the studio
- Oversee projects across all RIBA stages, from concept to completion
- Manage teams of sub-consultants, specialists, and craftspeople, ensuring sensitive and high-quality project delivery
- Work closely with clients, heritage organisations, and planning authorities
- Act as contract administrator where required.
Required Skills & Experience
- ARB-registered Architect with a minimum of 10 years' post-qualification experience in the UK
- AABC or RIBA SCA/CA accreditation desirable
- Extensive experience working on conservation and cultural projects, including listed buildings, museums, heritage sites, or ecclesiastical projects
- Strong leadership experience, managing teams, studios, or small practices
- Proven expertise across all RIBA stages, with excellent design, technical, and detailing skills
- Strong project management and contract administration skills
- Excellent understanding of UK planning and building regulations, particularly in conservation
- Commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, project profitability, and financial success
- Strong business development and work-winning experience, including bid writing and securing new projects
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and NBS
- Strong graphic sensibility, attention to detail, and hand-drawing ability
- Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
